Save Mart CARES Awards the Vacaville Public Education Foundation
Modesto, Calif., February 23, 2012– During this time of deep budget cuts and schools struggling to provide their students a quality education, the Save Mart CARES board of directors made the decision to partner with the Vacaville Public Education Foundation at a $10,000 level. A check will be presented to VPEF at their board meeting on Monday, February 27 by Bobby McDowell, Senior Director of Operations, and Vacaville Lucky Store Managers, Larry Grable and Rick Shipley.
Since its inception, the Vacaville Public Education Foundation has contributed more than 2.3 million to local schools, filling gaps and providing those extra programs needed for a wellrounded educational experience. Vacaville is home to two of the company’s Lucky Stores and the Save Mart owned Vacaville Distribution Center, many employee children will also personally benefit from the CARES donation.
In communication with the organization, VPEF President Nolan Sullivan, expressed his gratitude, “A simple thank you doesn’t express the sincere gratitude the Vacaville Public Education Foundation has for the Save Mart CARES very generous donation. In the economic climate we are currently experiencing donations like this are needed now more than ever. We want Vacaville and the surrounding community to know Save Mart cares about the students of VUSD and our community at large!” More information on VPEF is available at www.vpef.org.
